Endocannabinoid System
The Endocannabinoid System (ECS) is a receptor system found throughout the body and is involved in regulating many of our critical biological processes.
Endocannabinoids are found in the immune system, the central nervous system, spleen, pancreas, liver, colon, lungs, vascular system, reproductive system, muscles and bones.
The ECS is involved in many important physiological processes such as appetite, sleep, digestion, mood, memory, metabolism, hormones, inflammation and heart function.
The ECS has receptors on cells throughout the body, designed to accept cannabinoids (CBD). When CBD binds to these receptors, it helps to support the function of those cells and bring the body toward homeostasis (healthy and balanced state).
If you think about your ECS as a string of holiday lights that has a few bulbs out, think about CBD as the mechanism that turns those bulbs back on so that you have a fully glowing and functioning set of bright lights.
