Why pay cash for PT?

Many of you may be thinking: Why would I pay for something myself that my insurance would cover? Well, here is why:

The level of care that a Physical Therapist can provide when treating 3-4 patients at one time is far less than what a patient needs to improve, regardless of how great that PT may be at their job. One doctor dedicated to one patient at a time has proven to provide much more successful results.

  1. Cost effective care:

Out of pocket costs for healthcare consumers have been consistently rising over the last 15 years. Healthcare reform has shifted the burden to the consumer through high deductible plans and high per visit co-pays.

At Plus Forte, your Physical Therapist can provide a comprehensive evaluation and treatment at a significantly lower price, as compared to a high deductible health insurance plan.

Why? Physical Therapists are musculoskeletal primary care experts and the cost charged through an insurance plan for a PT evaluation could be as high as $350-400, plus the cost of the treatment averages around $150 per 15 minutes. If you have not yet met your insurance plan’s deductible you will be paying the full price of the services rendered, as well as your copay, and then possibly 20% of the costs once your deductible is met.

  2. Accessibility: In most states PTs have direct access. That
means that you can see them without a prescription from your physician. In most
cash-based businesses there is a much shorter wait time.

  3. Transparent Pricing: The patient and provider know up front what
is coming out of the patient’s pocket, which is typically much less than an
    insurance-based clinic’s cost.

  4. Private Sessions:

The average number of physical therapy visits
allowed when billing through insurance is 8-12, and you are usually sharing
your therapist with at least one other patient at the same time or are limited
to a shorter session time than what you really need.

Plus Forte provides you with 1-to-1 care, typically for
60 minutes. You are not performing your exercises with an aide
or by yourself, or being 1 of 3-4 patients that your PT is juggling in that
time slot. You are getting private, personalized, hands-on care, and your Physical Therapist is able to evaluate you as
a whole addressing all of your individual needs during each and every
    appointment.

  5. Freedom: Cash based practices are designed to be free from outside influence. You have the freedom to choose who your provider is, and how
long and how often they would like to receive care.
